Seeking Private Housekeepers (Part-Time) – Manhattan Estate

Job Summary
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented housekeeper/houseman for our client in New York City. This position offers a work week ranging from 8 to over 24 hours. The primary responsibility is to efficiently maintain the cleanliness of our clients' private residences. The job requires a focus on style, attention to detail, and service attributes essential for providing thorough and discreet service.
Candidates must provide their own transportation and be able to furnish documentation verifying their eligibility to work in the U.S. in accordance with the Federal I-9 form. skills in are preferred.
Work Schedule & Availability
This position requires a flexible and adaptable candidate available to work 8 to 24+ hours per week, with the following core shifts:
Tuesdays and Thursdays: 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Fridays: 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Please note: This is not the client’s full-time residence, but they do visit 4–5 times per year. During these visits, the candidate must be available on an on-call or extended basis to provide support throughout the duration of the client’s stay. Flexibility, professionalism, and discretion during these periods are essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Deliver excellent customer service in an efficient manner
Cleaning the residence according to standards set forth by supervisors
Cleaning rooms, restrooms, corridors and stairways
Sweep, scrub, wax, polish floor, dust furniture and vacuum carpet
Wash walls, ceiling, and woodwork along with windows, door panels and sills
Empty wastebaskets, wipe down bathroom surfaces, clean/disinfect bathrooms
Develop and maintain positive communication and teamwork with all co-workers and supervisors
Other duties as assigned
Knowledge and Skills
Multitask, organize and prioritize tasks on an hourly and daily basis
Work well with others in a team environment
Perform job duties with attention to detail, speed and efficiency
Follow directions effectively
Maintain confidentiality of client information
Education and Work Experience
One year of minimum related experience required as a Housekeeper, Houseman or Cleaner. Private Estate cleaning and hospitality experience preferred
Duties
Perform thorough cleaning of assigned areas, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces.
Conduct residential cleaning tasks such as kitchen and bathroom sanitation, laundry services, and floor care.
Manage housekeeping responsibilities efficiently while adhering to established cleaning protocols.
Handle carpet cleaning and maintenance as required.
Assist with cooking and meal preparation when necessary.
Ensure all cleaning supplies are stocked and report any maintenance issues in the facility.
Follow safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Experience
Previous experience in housekeeping or custodial roles is preferred but not mandatory.
Familiarity with housekeeping management practices in residential or hotel settings is a plus.
Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment is essential.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
Must demonstrate a commitment to cleanliness, sanitation, and attention to detail.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $30.00 per hour (or more, depending on experience)
Expected hours: 8 – 24 per week
